I’m Sarah Hall, an experienced and highly qualified psychotherapist who has worked in clinical practice for over fifteen years. I have extensive experience in delivering a wide range of effective and empowering therapeutic interventions that address a broad spectrum of mental and emotional health issues.
I offer a compassionate, empathetic and client centred approach to therapy, but one that is grounded in a deep multidisciplinary understanding of psychology. I provide both short and long term treatment, along with the tools that you will need to most effectively support yourself.
I am a practising member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the National Register of Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists (NRHP) and as such I am bound by and respectful of the codes of ethics and practice laid down by these professional bodies.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
How we think affects how we feel – which affects how we think. When stressed it is all too easy to become trapped in a spiral of negative interpretations leading to negative feelings and so on.
CBT offers tools and techniques for assessing the accuracy, value and consistency of our beliefs. It offers a pathway out of ingrained habits of negative thought towards a more positive, optimistic attitude.
A positive mental attitude is the essential precursor of peak performance in any arena while a negative one makes any task a grind. CBT has a remarkable track record of transforming people’s attitudes – turning grind into peak performance.
Counselling offers a safe time and space in which to talk, air concerns and reflect. Prompting, in the form of gentle questions, can help people look at issues in new ways and identify options for change. A counsellor is trained to ask the most appropriate questions and provide a non-judgemental environment in which to share and grow.
Hypnotherapy is a natural state of relaxation which you allow yourself to enter. The sensation experienced is similar to that of daydreaming or meditation. Under hypnosis, the mind can release unwanted feelings, thoughts and behavioural patterns. Hypnotherapy can help with many issues including anxiety, poor memory, fear of public speaking and stopping smoking. Hypnotic techniques are a rapid and effective tool for personal change.
Anyone can be better at anything effective coaching. This is as true in business as it is in sport. Coaches encourage, support and motivate, helping to define goals and facilitate change. Life coaching encourages a particular way of looking at yourself, your role and your ambitions. By setting long, medium and short term goals and agreeing the steps to achieve them life coaching encourages a calm focus. Having a clear, realistic life plan has been shown to reduce stress and enhance morale. Focussed people are simply more effective.
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP asserts that if one person can do something well, it is possible for another to learn it. It teaches people how to model successful performance, giving greater opportunity for reaching chosen goals. It specifically tackles negative habits, and teaches techniques that can be used to reinforce positive results.
NLP helps to develop the ways in which people think, feel and communicate. In simply having more choice many issues can be overcome. It is particularly effective in building confidence, increasing motivation and enhancing flexibility.
